Showcase the colors of Winter 2012 in your displays

As a small business owner or employee, you probably know that color is one of the best ways to draw in consumers. Even those who are passing by too quickly to notice the adult and child mannequins in your window displays will get a quick glimpse of the hues you are choosing to showcase, and if these colors are on-trend, then you have a greater chance of pulling in business. Here are some tips for colors that are going to be big over the next few months.

Playful, popping colors
Pantone has been the leader in forecasting trending colors for a long time, so it's best to familiarize yourself with their predictions. They've selected a wide array of colors that are fun and exciting for store owners, even if you don't sell clothing or makeup. For extra bright colors that will really stand out, consider the orangey-red tangerine tango, bright chartreuse or the deep pink flambé. More toned down colors include the brown French roast, peachy rose smoke, and the silver-gray titanium.

Go for oxblood
According to Pinterest, Oxblood is another hue that you can expect to see a lot of this fall and winter. This dark, deep, luscious red tone goes well with grays and yellows for a nice contrast. Women's clothing retailers should be sure to decorate their store fixtures and windows with this color, and dress up mannequins in the hue to let customers know that they're on point.

Ways to incorporate color
For merchants who don't sell clothing, you can still incorporate popular colors into your store in other ways. Using wholesale ribbons to wrap display tables and other fixtures can be an appealing way to add pops of color to your store, or you may want to consider purchasing new wholesale shopping bags in some trendy hues.
