Having a quality brick-and-mortar space is only half the battle in gaining loyal customers, as a recent study has found most shoppers are looking for stores with multi-channel shopping capabilities. The Multichannel Shopping Survey has found that 80 percent of U.S. consumers are more likely to keep visiting a store in person if the business also has a solid website.

Some experts believe customers enjoy having a company with a good website because many times they're able to get a heads up on certain sales or merchandise that will soon be coming to the retail store. This helps shoppers feel like they're "in the loop" with the places they shop at most.

Nearly half of all Americans surveyed reported that having an in-store pickup option from a store's website is important to them. This option may actually help shops down the line – the person may take the time to check out other merchandise on your display tables when they come to collect their purchase. From the data, it seems that convenience is key to keeping customers happy, so you should always make sure your store's floor is neat and inviting.
