Get your store ready for Easter

With Valentine's Day behind us, it's time to look forward to the next big holiday – Easter. The holiday falls on the very last day of March this year, which means now is the time to start lining your display tables and filling your display cases with goods that customers can use on the big day.

Apparel retailers
Clothing merchants stand to gain the most on this holiday. Many people will be looking for formal clothing to wear on March 31 when attending church or celebrations. This is a time for fancy attire – think lace and dresses for women, ties and button-downs for men. Parents often take the opportunity to dress their kids up on Easter, so consider placing a few child mannequins in Sunday bests in your front window.

Candy and toy sellers
One of the most beloved Easter traditions is the Easter egg hunt. Youngsters look forward to this game after church services end, and it wouldn't be complete without some delicious Easter candy as a prize. If you sell sweets or small toys, then you should push these items to the forefront of your store. You can also hang Easter egg baskets on your wall displays to make your store a one-stop shop before the big holiday.

An in-store party
One creative way to increase revenue around this time of year is to host an Easter party at your store. Invite shoppers of all ages to come into your business, and tuck a few Easter eggs amongst your jewelry displays and gondola shelves. Instead of putting chocolate or candies in these eggs, consider stuffing them with coupons that customers can then use to purchase goods. No Easter party would be complete without refreshments, so make sure you have some cookies and punch on hand.
