Creative ways to wrap gifts

Creative ways to wrap gifts

With the holiday season right around the corner, store managers are busy brainstorming unique sale ideas, decorating window displays and stocking up on cold-weather merchandise. One area that should not be overlooked is gift wrapping, which is an excellent way to enhance the customer experience and set a boutique apart from its competitors.

However, if you’re planning to offer gift wrapping, you need to have all of the right tools and resources to serve shoppers. This need extends beyond just having gift boxes or wrapping paper. In fact, many stores are looking to incorporate creative methods of gift wrapping into their services. Here are a few methods that may provide good options:

Go simple with ribbon
An easy way to provide gift wrapping services for customers is to stock up on wholesale ribbon and have it ready to tie up any type of gift box. Basic bows spruce up the appearance of a gift while also securing the merchandise inside without the use of unsightly tape, and it can be the perfect way to add some holiday cheer to a gift. Getting traditional holiday is a necessity, but you can also stock up on other hues popular in the fall and winter seasons to offer more options to customers.

Let stamps decorate a box
Adding a few special accents can take gift boxes from boring to extraordinary. One simple method that instantly upgrades a look is using stamps, which can adorn any type of box with traditional holiday messages or images. Those retailers who want an option they can use year-round may want to consider investing in stamps that can provide a border or simple design on a box instead. Even the smallest touch can enhance the appearance of a gift box, and a few basic stamps are a relatively easy undertaking for staff members.

If you’re interested in using stamps, you will need to have a variety of tools in addition to the stamps themselves. Ink pads in festive colors are a must, and it is also a good idea to have wet wipes and fine-tipped markers to clean off the equipment or fill in areas of the image.

Use animal prints
There may come a time when a customer is searching for a gift for a young, fun individual. These recipients deserve a gift box that is just as vibrant as their personalities, and an easy way to do that is to stock up on animal print jewelry boxes. Animal print containers require minimal additional decoration but can still stand out from traditional cartons during the holiday season.

Some customers may prefer to tie a simple ribbon around these boxes for extra security. Be sure to have complementing colors that will work with the animal prints. Neutral tones are a great choice, but you can also use a bright red or royal blue to go with zebra print or a mossy green to accent leopard print.

Have name labels
If nothing else, you should be sure your store has some kind of name label that customers can put on gifts. Once the boxes are wrapped up the shoppers are not going to be able to see what is inside, and the last thing they want to do is mix up the presents. A few labels, whether they are in the form of festive stickers or small cards, can act as nameplates that clearly display who the recipient is. You can decorate plain white labels or create personalized cards from scraps of paper and cardboard for some additional splashes of color.
