Color keeps customers coming back

Color keeps customers coming back

Color is one of the core components of visual merchandising. Shoppers want bright, inviting display tables and store displays that show them what you sell is what they need. Adding a few new hues to your space is important and can be easy on your overall budget.

Subtle changes to your current displays can go a long way in making it seem as though you've really revamped your store's layout. Update your gondola shelving units using the spring and summer merchandise you recently ordered. Use the colors from the clothes, towels or accessories your store has to bring your displays to life. If you're displaying new bath towels on your shelves, start by placing neutral tones on top and then mix in colored sets on lower shelves to appeal to customers senses' without going overboard.

If you're displaying spring coats and rain boots, it may be best to store the boots on top, creating a vertical feel. Pair fun raincoats or sun dresses underneath that have similar colors but perhaps different patterns to keep the shoppers engaged. This may also entice consumers to purchase an entire ensemble after seeing how well certain items work together.
